"Missing button" export tools
Sell a small tool that downloads everything from a popular app that has no "download all" button.
01The idea
What you'd build
Build a small tool that downloads every meeting note from apps like Read AI and tl;dv in one go. Sell it once for about $29 (estimate). When one works, copy it for the next app with the same missing button.
Why now: The note apps still have no "download all" button, and people keep asking for one on Reddit and X.
02Demand
Is anyone asking for this?
An idea is only worth your time if real people want it. Here's what we found.
How can I bulk export all my data?
Fathom has no bulk export
- Another company writes how-to guides for exactly these searches, which suggests people look for this. It also appears to sell export tools, so it's partly a competitor.
03The gap
Why isn't this solved already?
tl;dv says on its own pages: "No bulk transcript export — at all." Read AI has no button to download your old meetings all at once. Plaud's staff only offered a workaround for programmers.
04The pain point
What hurts, and when
You can only download your meeting notes one at a time. That hurts when you want to switch apps, keep a backup, or use your notes in another AI tool.
😣 When it hurts: When they switch to another app, want a backup, or want to use their old notes in another AI tool.
05Who needs this
The person you'd build for
- 👤Who they are
- People who use meeting-note or voice-note apps for work: salespeople, consultants, founders and researchers. Most sign up with a work email.
- 🧰What they use today
- Apps like Read AI, tl;dv, Fathom and Plaud. They can download their notes, but only one meeting at a time.
- 📍Where to find them
- Reddit groups for each app (like r/PlaudNoteUsers), posts on X, the Chrome Web Store, and Google searches like "download all Read AI transcripts".
- 💳Why they'd pay
- It saves hours of copying, one meeting at a time. A one-time price of about $29 (estimate) is small next to that. A similar tool for Fathom made $20,000 in 5 months, but results vary a lot.
06AI score
How much AI can do
🤖 AI does
- Builds the tool, the pages and the listing
- Runs checks and fixes problems
- Writes posts, emails and replies for you to check
- Turns your numbers into a weekly note
🙋 You do
- Make the accounts and pass ID checks
- Approve what AI makes
- Post, send and talk to buyers
- Handle the money, tax and decisions
AI can also prepare the selling and marketing work: posts, emails and replies. But a person has to do it: post, send and talk to buyers.
How hard is it? Easy to medium.
07Your AI
What to have your AI do
Use any AI assistant you like. One paid plan (~$20 a month) is usually enough. Here's what to have it do:
Search the web for people asking for this, and list who already sells it and their weak spots.
Write the tool step by step, test it, and explain anything you need to do by hand.
Write your website, store listing and help pages in plain words, with no income claims.
Draft posts, emails and replies. You edit them, then post and send them yourself.
Keep your FAQ and refund rules in one saved chat or project, so every reply follows them.
Re-run the tests, check for changes, and turn your weekly numbers into a short note.
